This afternoon it was so sunny! We all went outside and realised that everyone had a shadow! We drew around our shadow, and then had a go at doing different poses to make our shadow change. It was so much fun!
The Innovators follow a map!

This week in Literacy we have been focusing on Geography!
The Innovators have been looking at maps (Maps of the World, Great Britain, Sheffield and Pitsmoor).
Today we used directions on the map to find our way through school to the office.
What are directions? Why not ask your child if they can tell you what directions are.
Where did we go in school? Can your children remember?
Challenge – Can you make a map at home?
Mr. Riley
The Innovators get into the festive spirit!
This afternoon we and our friends The Achievers and The Jewels made some Christmas tree paintings by using a plastic fork to scrape paint and create the bristles. We then decorated with glitter and painted the tree stump using a paintbrush. Look at how lovely they look! Come down to foundation and see them on display.
The Innovators make maps!
Using what we learned in Maths:
We have been looking at maps of our classroom environment.
The children then went and created their own map of Pitsmoor.
We drew our houses, Tesco, the church and the mosque.

Well done Foundation and a big well done to Mrs Westney!
Have a good week Innovators.
Mr. Riley
The Innovators become loose-parts engineers!
The Innovators become scientists!
We were so excited to come back after half term and see that we have a new science area in our classroom! We got to work straightaway and used pipettes to squeeze coloured water into mixing palettes. We then used paper tubes to create firework pictures with paint and black paper. They were so colourful! We described the noises that fireworks make such as “boom!”, “whoosh!” and “pow!”.
The Innovators retell The Little Red Hen!
Today we retold the story of the little red hen.
We used masks of the characters from the story to retell different parts of the story.
“Not I” said the Cat.
“Not I” said the Rat .
After our lesson children even went to the workshop table to create their own masks from the story!
Mr. Riley
The Innovators practise 1:1 counting!
The Innovators & SEAL!
In SEAL we learned all about being good friends through being kind and sharing with others.
Why not ask your children all about Tickled Pink and Green for Growth?

We learned that if we ever feel angry we could take 3 breaths in and 3 breaths out helping us to feel calmer. Why not try this at home too!
Mr. Riley
